Mentoring

Merriam-Webster defines a mentor as "a trusted counselor or guide." History tells us the original Mentor is a character in Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey. When Odysseus, King of Ithaca went to fight in the Trojan War, he entrusted the care of his kingdom to Mentor. Mentor served as the teacher and overseer of Odysseuss’ son, Telemachus.

Life Builders Ministries believes that a mentor is an individual, usually older, always more experienced, who helps and guides another individual’s development. This guidance is not done for personal gain. One of the most valuable assets your career can have is a good mentor. Charles Hefton, President and Founder of Life Builders Ministries has and is serving as Mentor for several ministers in different stages of life. Forty-three years of pastoral experience, serving on numerous Boards and having a special gift of encouragement, greatly enhance his mentoring capabilities.

Ultimately, humans do what they want anyway. And finding out exactly what you really want for yourself and your business is our first task together. Charles will help you distinguish between what you coulda, shoulda, oughta and have-to, from what you, in your heart of hearts, really want for yourself. Once you create the ideal goal, you are much more likely to naturally and consistently take actions to reach it.
